This policy explains what we collect when you use our free store-building tool and the Dream Store app, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here isn’t clear, email us and we’ll explain it in plain English.
This tool is run by Simon Squibb / HelpBnk (“we”, “us”). We help first-time founders get an online store set up for free.
When you use the tool, we collect the details you give us:
If you install our Dream Store app on a Shopify store, we also store your store’s address (for example yourshop.myshopify.com), an access token that lets the app set the store up for you, and a record of what the app built. We read your store’s contact email once, only to match your store to the answers you gave us a few minutes earlier.
We use your details to build your store and get it to you, to contact you about it, and to help you set it up. We use the usage data to understand what’s working and make the tool better.
When you install it, the app signs in to your Shopify store on your behalf and adds starter content: products and images, collections, pages, your menu, and shop policies. It only does this on a store that has no products yet — if your store already has products, the app leaves it completely alone and changes nothing.
The app does not read your orders, your customers, or your payment details, and it never asks for access to them.
To set up your store we work with Shopify, the platform your store runs on, and their privacy policy covers what they do with your information. We also use trusted tools to manage contacts, email and product analytics (such as HubSpot and PostHog). We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
We process your details based on your consent, which you give when you tick the box and submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to us using it. To do any of these, email us and we’ll sort it. If you’re in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
We keep your details for as long as we’re helping you with your store and for a reasonable period afterwards, then we delete them. If you uninstall the Dream Store app, we delete the access token straight away and stop being able to reach your store at all. Shopify also sends us data deletion requests on your behalf, and we act on them.
